Walking with God

Welcome to the Walking With Series!

The Walking With series is an adult education course comprising twelve learning units.
Each pdf on this site contains:

  • An introduction to the project;
  • A section on how to use the project;
  • An essay by a leading scholar;
  • Texts for chavruta and group study;
  • A proposed session plan;
  • A list of contributors;
  • A short bibliography.

All of the materials may be downloaded at no charge. You may use them as you wish.

The Walking With series has been created by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in partnership with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, the Rabbinical Assembly, the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, and the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs. It has been made possible by the generous support of the Held Foundation, and is dedicated to the memory of Louise and Harold Held.

Our tradition teaches that Talmud Torah has no prescribed measure, that it yields benefit both immediately and in the time to come. It is our earnest hope that the Walking With project will awaken a passion for learning and provide a stimulating and positive educational experience in the short term. We pray, also, that in the longer term it will help to strengthen our people's connection to God and to a life of spirit and mitzvot.
