Rabbinic Ordination - 2001

The Hope of Today, The Promise of Tomorrow

Their spiritual journeys are first beginning. It seems just yesterday that the students of the graduating class of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies arrived at the University of Judaism hungry for the texts of our traditions. And very soon - on Monday, May 21, at Los Angeles' Sinai Temple - they leave us spiritually and intellectually prepared to assume their roles as religious leaders.

A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, a former marketing consultant for Fortune 500 companies and a teacher among them, our soon-to-be Ziegler School alumni take with them an educational experience that will enrich congregations, Jewish community centers and other institutions across North America.

We are proud of these students, who represent Conservative Judaism's hope of today and promise of tomorrow. In extending to each of our newly ordained rabbis a hearty mazal tov, we wish our Class of 2001 much success in all future endeavors.
