The convenient computer center is equipped with the most widely used systems and a large selection of software, including tutorials.
Every student is offered a free e mail account and Internet address on the University’s server. Ziegler students can send and receive e mail on any Internet-accessible computer in AJU library with free software provided by the University. The Ziegler School administration uses e mail in lieu of paper memoranda for virtually all general communications to students. If students are not already computer-oriented, they should prepare themselves to learn the e-mail system. Ziegler students and faculty maintain an internal on line discussion group on topics of mutual interest. In addition, there is a private on line discussion group for rabbinical students from all of the seminaries affiliated with United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
Students also may surf the World Wide Web from the computers in the library (and log on to AJU’s web page at:http://www.ajula.edu). The library has a growing collection of Judaica on CD ROM, available for use free of charge.
The library’s computers (PCs and MACs) may be used by students without charge for typing papers, but students will find it much more convenient to have their own computers at home. Printing on the library’s laser printers is 10 cents per page. Photocopies are also 10 cents per page.
Costs for library services are subject to change without notice.
