Letter from the Academic Dean

Shalom! Thank you for your interest in the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies and American Jewish University! We’re delighted with the rapid growth and development of this unique and challenging environment, and look forward to working with you as you prepare to join the leadership of American Jewish life.

Rabbi Bradley Shavit ArtsonThe Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies is dedicated to training a new cadre of Conservative rabbis who are deeply versed in Jewish texts, committed to a life of mitzvot and the love of God, and who are capable of transmitting the beauty and wisdom of Judaism to others. Beyond even that, our faculty and staff hope that our graduates will leave the Ziegler School as passionate, dynamic and creative thinkers, who can bring a sense of energy and holiness to the communities they will serve.

Toward that end, the Ziegler School curriculum fuses academic learning, professional training, a sense of hevra (community), and personal spiritual enrichment. We believe that those emphases, along with our commitment to taking the best that the yeshiva model has to offer today’s rabbinical students, yield a program that will shape your vision and passion for Jewish life for many years to come.

We are honored by your interest in the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, and look forward sharing with you years of learning and deepening Jewish commitment and vision. Alu ve-hitzilu!

B’virkat Shalom,
Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson
