Today, Jewish communities are thriving in an unprecedented renaissance, where Jews are hungrily seeking knowledge, spiritual renewal, connection to God, and a sense of identity through an exploration of their history, culture, language, values and traditions. Rabbis are integral in this growth as they assume ever-widening roles in the Jewish community. Rabbinic training, therefore, needs to help prepare rabbis to meet the challenges of Jewish communities with passion, creativity, and innovation.
The Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies offers a program which values rigorous scholarship, embraces the splendors of spirituality, and provides our students with vast opportunities to grow intellectually and spiritually. While the Ziegler School is fully dedicated to halakhah (Jewish law) as a dynamic and traditional expression of God’s love and wisdom, we are not weighed down by the entrenched “we’ve-always-done-it-this-way” mind set. Students engage in dynamic dialogue about God, the Jewish people, and themselves. Graduates leave the program versed in the texts, beliefs and practices, prepared to bring new spirit and warmth in serving their communities.
